What is a t-shirt quilt?

It is a quilt made from your own t-shirts or sweatshirts.  The shirts can be well worn or brand new. The shirts are cut into 12 or 14 inch squares and then sewn together with strips (sashing)  that are 2 to 3 inches. All quilts are finished on the machine for extra stability.

The finished product can be personalized with a special message if desired.

What is a memory quilt?

A memory quilt is made from your memories. Photos of special times, shirts you want to remember, baby clothes that are special... you name it, it can most likely be used in a quilt.

How long does it take to have a quilt completed?

Once I receive the shirts it will take 4 to 6 weeks to complete your quilt and get it back to you. Depending on the time of the year it may take longer. I will contact you when your shirts have arrived. I will also contact you when the quilt is finished and on it's way back to you.

Can I use my old sweatshirts?

Yes. It is best that the entire quilt is made of sweatshirts. That way there is consistency throughout the entire quilt. The sweatshirt quilts are heavier when finished. But if you have a favorite sweatshirt that you would like to have included in a t-shirt quilt, that can be done.

What type of t-shirts can be used?

The standard 100% cotton or cotton blend shirt is best. But some sports like soccer and lacrosse have a nylon shirts that can be used in the quilt.  Send your shirts and I will get them into the quilt.

Can I use photographs?

Yes, photographs can be used. Photographs would need to be provided by the customer. I will then scan them and transfer them to the material. The photographs are returned to the customer with no harm to them.

What is the difference between straight and off-set sashing?

Straight set sashing means that every row lines up on top of each other.
Here is an example of straight set sashing
Off-set sashing means that the rows do not line up on top of each other but are slightly set to the
left or right of the row above.
Here is an example of off-set sashing

What is the difference between Window pane and Picture frame sashing?

Window Pane sashing means that each shirt is surrounded by a different color and each shirt line up on top of each other.

Here is an example of a 2 color Window Pane quilt
Picture Frame sashing mean that each shirt is completely surrounded by a single color then sashed with another color.
Here is an example of a Picture Frame quilt.

What does REgnA's Bloom provide?

For every quilt, REgnA's Bloom provides the thread, batting, material for the backing, sashing and binding.

What do I need to provide?

You will need to provide enough shirts with designs to complete a quilt.  They need to be currently laundered. If you have a shirt(s) that  have a front and a back design, please make sure you label which design(s) you would like to use.  You can use both.  If you do not label the designs, I will choose what will work best for your quilt. The shirts need to large enough to cut a 12 or 14 inch square out of the center.

How many shirts do I need?

It depends on the size of the quilt. Check out the chart to decide how many you will need to send.

The cost is based on the number of blocks made from your memories. An example: If you are going to have 12 photos made into a quilt the starting price is $125. An additional charge of $4.00 per photo transfer added. And I highly suggest that the customer purchase the material for the top of the quilt (Approx. $25). This allows for a more personal finished memory. Approximate cost for this 12 photo finished quilt would be $200.  For a better pricing on your memory quilt, please contact me.

How do I pay for my quilt?

You will need to include a $50.00 deposit with your initial order. The remainder of the balance is due at delivery of your quilt.  You will be notified via email when your quilt is completed, on its way and the balance due. Payment options can be discussed.

They are reinforced with interfacing.
They are then sewn together with  your favorite color of 2-3 inch sashing.
The top of the quilt, batting and backing is machine sewn together for extra stability.
